Fifteen Icing Recipes for Cookie Decorating
Human beings love variety. This is apparent in every aspect of life. Our homes, appearance, and even the food we eat are as unique as we are. It seems this also holds true when it comes to cookie icing. There are about as many ways to make icing as there are styles of decorating.
With so many recipes to choose from, it may be hard to decide which one to try first. To help you out, I’ve made a list of fifteen tried and true cookie icing recipes. If a particular recipe doesn’t work for you, don’t give up. Keep experimenting until you find one that suits your taste.

This is AWESOME! So many to experiment with, and perfect timing, too. Since we’re snowed in here, I’m thinking a few dozen cookies may get whipped up to test recipes with!
Hi Callye! We got about 13 inches of snow here in Virginia last night! Just enjoying some time on my computer this morning. Great post! I pinned it on my Pinterest board, ” The art of cookie decorating” found here….http://www.pinterest.com/dorana1/the-art-of-cookie-decorating/ Happy Valentine’s Day!!

Fantastic post! Leave it to you to organize all this info in one place! You are the best! Happy Valentines Day!
I am still not sure how to get my royal icing to dry shiny. Was your solution to have a fan blow air on them?
I’m very new to decorating cookies. Your blog is my cookie making bible. I made the lovebird cookies for Valentines, but they were a little dull in color. Not shiny at all.
Thanks for the great info!
Yes, there is a link at the bottom of the post that will take you to photos of my setup and the icing 🙂
