Pinterest Cookie-d {Moustache Cookies}
Have you ever noticed that if you stare at the word moustache long enough it starts to look weird? Well, any word really, but this one in particular just gets funky if you stare at it too long. I’ll be the first to admit, I am not a great speller, and a week filled with words like chevron and moustache can really mess up my groove. Especially when half the Internet says you spell moustache, M-U-S-T-A-C-H-E, and the other half says it goes the other way {I do check these things sometimes}. In any case, y’all know what I am taking about.
Back to moustaches…I’ve been seeing them all over the place. Party themes, glassware, bedding, jewelry, wine, and even on nails. I’ve even seen moustache cookies, and all of them are adorable.
Pretty much the only place I don’t like seeing moustaches are on real live faces…unless they are on men about my dad’s age, but that’s an entirely different issue.
I guess you’ve probably figured out what my today’s Pinterest cookies are…
I love it when I find things that make cookie making even easier…in this case it was these fun templates that I found over on See Cate Create. With these in my hand, 90% of the work was done. I tweaked the designs a little to suit my taste, and made a paper stencil like I used HERE.
Then I had fun…
I’m kind of thinking moustache on a stick cookies might be a teenie bit more fun than these, especially if you brought the camera, but my version is still super cute and EASY!
That’s it for me today, I took care of the manly cookies, so now it’s time to hop on over and see Ashleigh. She made vintage lace cookies.
Oh yes, and just to satisfy my curiosity, what is your position on moustaches?
M-U-S-T-A-C-H-E, or M-O-U-S-T-A-C-H-E, love ’em or hate ’em?
P.S.-Here’s more moustaches if you REALLY want to get crazy!
I love your Moustaches 🙂 and of course I have no clue on the spelling part.
I am seriously laughing at the cuteness of these cookies! They are adorable in a totally weird way. (Weird because, like you, I do NOT like to see them on human beings.) The green one in the top picture is THE PERFECT shape! Love it!
PS — I just said “SERIOUSLY laughing.” You know, as opposed to “angrily laughing” or “quietly laughing.” I’m going to have to practice a serious laugh now….just in case anyone calls me on it.
I love mustache COOKIES, that’s for sure! Love all of the variety and the bright colors!
I did post a mustache cookie on a stick (modeled by a munchkin) a while back:)
I knew it had to be you! Adding the link =)
Thanks for the link-love Callye! You’re the best! 🙂
Not a big fan of mustaches (I’ll choose that spelling), but I do love cookies!! (And you of course!)
loooooove them!!! so cool – i have a moustache-mug, -shirt, -flask … adore your cookiedesign! 🙂 sweet greets from hamburg, germany!
GO MOUSTACHE! Moustaches are amazing. I love these cookies. And it’s true, they are everywhere. That is because they are adorable! (yes, a moustache is adorable :))
These are ADORABLE. I’ve always spelled it mustache, I think. It’s starting to look weird to me from reading it so much so i’m not 100% sure I didn’t include an “o” in there.
Not a big fan of any kind of facial hair, on men or women lol But love the cookies
Ooh these are so cute, love the clean style and colors. Super sweet.?
Love that you did different styles of moustaches. Especially the little soul patch!
Again, when are you moving to NYC?
I love these so much! (& I’m a mustache girl!).
Only you would have thought to put these on cookies, they look great!!
Miss you, M. We’re way overdue for a chat. Talk very soon!
I love these mustaches! But I”m like you, not a fan of them on actual faces.
I don’t get the craze…feel like I missed something somewhere as I see them popping up EVERYWHERE.
Those are adorable. LOVE it! I can’t wait to try making some… possibly on a stick. I like that idea.
I don’t get the craze either, but your cookies look great! The only thing missing is a goatee…:)
Unless the mustache was on Harrison Ford, Sean Connery or Rob Lowe, I’m not a fan. Having said that, I’d prefer they all keep shaving and that the *staches* stay on these cute cookies rather than on anyone’s face.
Paula I agree. Sean Connery an have a moustache any day of the week!
I would be none the wiser in regards to the spelling…either way works for me!!! But I LOVE the cookies…they make me smile on this super rainy New York day!
I’ll take your rain 🙂
So stinkin’ cute!!! These would be so precious at a kids party themed around disguises or spies! Fun!!!
LOVE these!! SO so so cute. I made mustache cookies on a stick once, I will have to show you!!
The background color on these cookies are GORGEOUS!!
These are super cute…and I don’t know why! The word mustache is odd…my Dad had one for years and when he shaved it off he looked like a totally different dude…my sisters and I rebelled and he grew it back and then all was right with the world again. HA, the power of the mustache!
These are a perfect idea for my husband’s birthday coming up!!! He can change the style of his moustache weekly…LOL!! Thanks for sharing!!
Funny cookies. My son said he wouldn’t want to eat cookies with mustaches on them, but I would wager if I made them he would find a way to eat them. lol
I do not care for mustaches on men for the most part, but some how Tom Seleck (sp) seems to rock the mustache.
Thanks for another wonderful cookie.
These are TOO fun, Callye! I swear, your icing is always *perfection.*
Heehee. These cookies cracked me up. You’re right – moustache really looks strange spelled out, and it even feels weird saying it. I guess I’m a moustache girl since my husband has one. I’ve known him for 34 years and have never seen him without a moustache. Either he’s trying to hide the fact that he doesn’t have an upper lip, or he was born with it. I still haven’t figured it out. Love ya, Callye. You’re the best!!
THREE WEEKS!!!
I’m not a fan of the mustache either…and who knows how the heck it’s spelled. To me they’re just gross….unless on my father or some other older gentlemen. As always your cookies are fabulous no matter what the design. How the heck does your icing always look so fabulous? Tips and tricks? I guess I shall search through your blog to see….as I’m sure you posted on your icing many times. Keep making such adorable cookies….you are an inspiration!
All of your cookies are so beautiful. I have used your recipes and although mine taste great, I have a lot of work to go before they are as cute as yours. I am sure you mention it somewhere in the blog, but what brand of cutter is your fluted square cutter? I have been looking everywhere for one. In these pictures it appears to be slightly larger than the 3″ one that I can find. Thanks.
Yes, so true!!! The word “moustache” does look funny indeed! What is it with moustaches anyway? Why are they so trendy at the moment? They look super-pretty on your cookies, though.

I adore these cookies, and although not all of us are fans of moustaches on in real life, it doesn’t prevent some people from rocking them 😛 I have a brother who has one, and has a Birthday coming up and am really looking forward to decorating the cookies like this. Though I do have one amateur question, how does the icing stay like that? It seems to be hardened, so is it the recipe of the icing? I’m used to making cupcake icing (I know it’s most likely very different). So you would place the stencil on the cookie, and then just fill it in with icing, and wait for it to dry, then remove the stencil? Sorry for all the questions, I’m just eager to learn, and have all the know-how! 🙂 Great site!
Nevermind, I found your tutorial on stencils 🙂 But my only question is, do you make flood icing, or is it purchased? And if it’s made where can I find a good recipe?

Love your cookies! They are always unique and inspire me to work harder at mine. Where did you buy the scallop square cookie cutters you use? Thanks for sharing all your beautiful cookies!

Your cookies are ADORABLE! Was just thinking you should Re-post or flag these moustache cookies for “Movember” (the grow a moustache in November fundraiser for prostate cancer). A timely treat!
I will totally be making these for my friends birthday! He always says, “I moustache you a question”, and I think he would love these!
Love these cookies!
Love them! Might have to try some for my daughter and her friends…seems that Moustaches are a big thing right now!
