Great use of the plaque cookie cutters Callye. The monogrammed wedding cookies are beautiful.
I’ve been wanting to buy a plaque cutter for a while, but felt overwhelmed with the choices. Thank you so much for your list of recommendations. They will definitely help me finally make some choices on a cutter. Your wedding cookies are impeccable and so tasteful (as usual!). I was wondering what color luster dust you used and if there’s a royal icing color you’d recommend that would allow a gold or bronze luster dust to show up the best?
I love the shape and quality of copper gifts, but Karen’s Cookies are a great value. As for lustre dust, try this color over a darker base icing. http://www.countrykitchensa.com/shop/food-items/luster-dust-aztec-gold/46/534/1105/2381/
These are so pretty Callye. I especially love how you put part of the flower on the plaque cookie with the gold. VERY nice!!!
Beautiful cookie platter, Callye! Thanks for rounding up the plaque cutter options. Its a great reference when I decide I’m ready for a new plaque purchase.
I love Karen’s Cookies plaque cutters! They are awesome 🙂
I want to spend a day, no a week with you. I would say a month, but I don’t want to be greedy. 🙂
Hi Callye! Am a novice so please pardon the question. 🙂 What size tip do you use to make the design? Thanks! As usual, sooo beautiful cookies!
I used a #2 for most, except for the piping on the flowers. For that I used a #1.5 PME =)
And I thought I had all the plaque cutters. I had no idea there were so many to choose from. Now I must shop. shhhhhhh don’t tell my husband 😉 Your platter arrangement is beautiful!!
I won’t tell. I do the same thing 😉
Stunningly beautiful! Your photography on this set is the BOMB! I’m jelly of this pic 🙂
Seriously, I owe it all to Lisa. She showed me a little trick that BLEW MY MIND!
Sweet! I finally found the courage to start playing with manual settings on my camera. Lol!
Those cookies are beautiful! Would you mind passing on your secret for the perfect lettering?
This is the perfect tool, Sue https://www.sweetsugarbelle.com/2012/07/using-a-kopykake-projector/
Hi Callye
Love the gold lettering. Is that coloring added to royal icing? Such a beautiful platter.
Thanks – Roseann
Rosann, tht is luster dust. I have all the info you need here https://www.sweetsugarbelle.com/2011/12/usinglustredustcookies/
These are stunning Callye! Your gold is so perfect! And the designs are so fresh and the colors are so cheerful! I just want to look at these all day to stay inspired!
Positively Gorgeous!!! I’m in LOVE with the Font-which one is it? Also, can you give an idea of the dough thickness those Global Sugar Art ones are or are they only really good for fondant? I I’ve been eyeing all of these concave sets because they look kinda retro and go well with “game” character sets. Also love getting sets of plaque cutters since the smaller ones make great filler cookies and it’s so hard to find 2″ cutters that aren’t just round & square http://www.nycake.com/search.aspx?find=Marina+cutter+set Thanks for all of the cutter additions to my wish list!
Barbara, I am not sure on the font name, but I know it came from Fontspace. The Global Sugar Art cutters are about 1/2 an inch thick. They will work on cookies, I use them often, but not thicker ones. Thank you for the NY Cake suggestion! They are wonderful! I want them. I totally added them to the list!
Ecrandal has some lovely plaque cutters — heavy duty copper in great shapes. I have many of them and swear by them.
My favorite cutter is the fancy rectangle plaque cutter from Copper Gifts. It’s the perfect size for place cards, name plates, and gift tags. I’d love to know how you painted the outline around the plaque and the script initials without getting any luster dust on the cookie. Was the “C” a transfer or did you draw it directly on the cookie? Thanks for a great post. As usual, you were an inspiration!
I drew it directly on the cookie. It’s not perfect. If you look in the top left corner diagonal to the B, I have a messy spot, they’re usually more noticeable to us than others.
I love this gold, especially in a world of silver and platinum! I bought some gold and haven’t had a chance to use it yet. Your steady hand with it is impressive. This is such a cute platter, the leaves are sort of unexpected, I like it!
These cookies are so FRESH and Springy, not to mention beautiful!
Oh these are far too gorgeous to eat! I need myself a plaque cutter now!
Most beautiful cookies I have ever seen!!! Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!
Woman, have you no respect for my pocketbook?! Sheesh, now I have to buy all of them…
With over 800 cookie cutters I have yet to purchase a plaque cookie cutter! Seeing your gorgeous wedding cookies of course makes me want one! Beautiful as always Callye!
You should make one!!!
So, wait, you hand-painted the gold on those fine lines?? That’s amazing! How do you get your lines so straight? I seem to have a palsy when I try to do that ;P
How was the gold lettering and outlines done? It doesn’t appear to be gold painted over RI. Am I wrong? I cannot paint the gold without getting smudges and that looks absolutely perfect!
It is! I’ve got a post coming within the week…
I FINALLY posted the how to. Sorry it took so long!
What about the flowers? Where did you find that shape? I love the larger fluted circles and squares, but the only ones I can find are either too big or too small. These look perfect!
I pieced that one. I’ll talk about it more very soon 🙂

Hi Sweet! Which food colors you used for pinks?
I cant remember specifically, but I tend to mix a tiny bit of tulip red and soft pink or rose for that pretty salmony pink color.
Cheap Cookie Cutters – As a premier fine fashion Cookie Cutters Retailer
Just wanted to say thank you for you great website and information. I looked at the websites listed for plaque cookie cutters. One of them had low shipping (where the shipping didn’t cost more than the cutters) and good prices. I have been looking every where but they were to expensive to begin with and add on shipping – outrageous!! Again, thanks for your hard work to help others.

Ebay has some nice options, including most of the above.
Can you explain your technique on the “gold” monogram on the wedding cookies? I have a 50th anniversary that I need to decorate plaque cookies with gold “50’s”. Thanks
