Bunny Face Cookies
Just in case you’re wondering, I am totally aware that Easter is over. But if ol’ Willy Wonka can do it, so can I. I’m getting ahead. Or maybe just catching up. In any case, I made these cookies and took lots of pictures. I could’ve saved them for next year, but if I don’t share them now by next Easter I will have noticed every single flaw. Twice. Then I’ll change my mind about posting them period and will have wasted two hours of my life taking photos I never used. A very dire situation indeed.
So, here they are. Easter bunnies, a week late. It’s a good thing late bunnies are as cute as punctual ones.
To make these cookies you will need:
- White piping and flood icing {make the flood closer to 15-20 second consistency}
- Pink 20-second icing
- Black piping icing
Begin by outlining and flooding the cookie. Give it a little time to dry.
When the base is dry {at least to the touch} add cheeks. To do this, place a large-ish dot of white flood icing on one cheek. Let dry for 20-30 minutes then do the same to the other side.
Once the cheeks have dried use pink 20-second icing to add the nose and ear detail.
Finish up with eyes and fwiskers {fake whiskers}.
Make them now and people might think you’re weird, but make them next Easter and everyone will love you!
Seriously though, I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!
Hahaha! I think you are on the ball sister! Magazines work a year out so you are doing good! Super cute bunnies. I love the cheeks!!
Those are the cutest cookies in town! Thanks for the tutorial. I will have to try them.
Whether or not Easter already passed, these are absolutely perfect for springtime. Beautiful work, as usual!
theyre absolutely adorable! cant wait to work on these for the next holiday (doesnt have to be Easter, right?) 🙂
So adorable!! And you make it look so easy 🙂
Aren’t bunnies in season all the time? Of course they are. 🙂 Well cute is ALWAYS in season. I love them. ?
They’re beautiful! And heck, it’s still Spring, right? Who says that it’s only Easter that gets the lock-down on bunnies? I have a deviled egg recipe that I meant to post around Easter and never got around to it- i thought about saving it til next year but I’m with you; I know me, and I would have deleted all the photos in a fit of dissapprovement by this time next year 🙂 Thank you for sharing them regardless!
I love their big puffy cheeks! Hope you had a wonderful Easter too Callye. Congratulations on being interviewed by the Texas Country Reporter. It was a pleasure to watch the video.
You are so funny. I love that bunny. I will make a copy of the bunny and place the copy into my easter cookie cutters, and next year I will be ready to make the cute bunny cookies. You are the BEST of the BEST
i just love his nose ! SO cute !
So is there a secret I am missing to getting the nice smooth curves that you get? Maybe my piping icing is too stiff, but it seems to not “flow” around the corners that well and my circles or curves end up wonky. I am sure more practice would help, but I only make cookies like this a handful of times each year. I sure do love your cookies, though, it’s such a treat to see each morning!
I have another Easter set I was wondering the same- too late to post and I may not like them by next year. I did make similar bunnies the day before Easter and got those posted in time for the Easter Bunny. I just love the cheeks.
Don’t think of them as Easter bunnies, just spring bunnies. Also, people can just file these instructions away for next year if they want to follow them. I can’t imagine where you see flaws in these cute little critters.
Congratulations on the TV spot, I caught a link to the YouTube video that someone posted on FB.
So adorable, as always!!
Love ’em!

You may want to see that someone is using your pictures without tag you, personally I think it’s a bad thing to do….

I made these sweet bunny faces for Easter this year. I loved that they had so much personality but didn’t require lots of colors and consistencies of icing. Thanks for the tutorial and inspiration!
What type of cookie cutters do you use for the rabbit and carrot. They are adorable!
I am sorry to bother you, but what cookie cutter did you use. I want to make sure I get the right one.
Thank-you,
Suzie
Have made these. Super cute and really easy too.
