Creative Giraffe Face Cookies
When I travel I almost never get home without leaving one or two things behind. I just got a frustrating reminder after a recent trip to California. The good news is that I made it home with my computer…thanks to the lovely flight attendant who located it before I was too far removed from the seat I occupied, but I am pretty sure my charger is plugged into the dining room wall in San Luis Obisbo where it was last seen.
For the time being, I am using our “junk laptop”. We keep it around for iTunes and emergencies, but since it is missing quite a few keys {most noticeably the “A” and space-bar} this is going to have to be short, lest I blow a microchip or two.
Seems I created a little frenzy after posting these giraffe cookies. I made them from a gifted cutter which is now unavailable.
Cookie people are a very resourceful bunch, and those who could not find the original were able to commission similar designs from shops like Plastics to Print and Ecrandal. But if you don’t want to do all that, I came up with several designs using cutters that you might already own.

You are so fun! I love all of these!
You are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
Super creative use of the cookie cutters. I’m so going to have to try this but I need more cutters to even try this [which is a shame] I so wish we had Wilton stores here.
The giraffes are so cute. The colours are a perfect match and their faces are so adorable!
Wow!!!!! That is dedication! You have thought of everything!! And made my life so much easier! Giraffes are so popular for baby showers this year! They all look perfect!
You are amazing! What a talent you have for seeing designs.
Oh my gosh…so darn cute, Callye!!! So amazing what you can see in cookie cutters!
WOW!! When you say “several” I think you really meant to say, “an ENTIRE ARMY of adorable giraffe faces.” This might be the most amazing post EVER. I’m seriously going to have to come back a couple more times to wrap my head around all those fantastic ideas for giraffe heads in one post.
Utterly fantastic!
I could stare at these for days…the creativity is just so super cool! I really want to make giraffes now.
You know, Callye, you just continue to amaze and delight with your re-purpose-ing of cookie cutters. These are absolutely adorable!! I even have some of these cutters…can’t wait to try these! You’re the best!!! Sharon @ the plaid cookie
Wow – you are so amazing at re-purposing cookie cutters! I love it. ๐ You have a whole herd there!
You are incredible Callye. You made all these giraffes in all these different shapes so that almost anyone can make an adorable giraffe! That is really going over and above to help others. You never cease to amaze me. It was such a dream for me to be able to meet you on Sunday. You are just like I imagined you would be. Absolutely adorable and just the sweetest thing ever. After I left you and the girls, I got home at 1am and decorated cookies til 5:30am for Nick to bring to a potluck at work and then Mellissa went into labor and I was with her til almost 4am last night. I think that was probably the best two days of my life, meeting you and then meeting my first grandchild. Hugs! Cristin
You are one smart cookie! Thanks for always showing us how to multi-task our cookie cutters!
What??? You were in San Lius Obispo last weekend??? I am so bummed, I live in L.A. only 3 hours away! I guess I’ll have to wait until Cookie Con to meet you – along with 199 other rabid fans!
I love your posts like this one! The leprechauns blew me away and now the giraffe heads are out of control! You’re a cookie goddess!!
they are all ADORABLE, I just love giraffes! Wonderful work Callye. I was in San Luis Obispo for the first time last week, funny to think our paths might have crossed. Wish I could give you a REAL hug, you’re so sweet. Hope you had a fun time in Ca.
AMAZING!!!! I would have trouble coming up with one giraffe design and you go and make a zillion. I’m so proud of myself because I guessed snowmen and a pineapple cutter when I saw your pic on Instagram. I’m getting better at seeing cutters used but I could never come up with this type of creativity. You are so brilliant. I love when you show us this type of creativity because it forces my brain to work and try to see things differently. Please keep it up because with enough brain exercises I just may create something great that no one expects out of a standard cutter.
giraffes are so sweet – these especially! I love the expressions. What work you do! The use of the cutters amazes me.
OMG, no act oF kindness goes unpunished. I can’t believe the frenzy we created with a simple gift of a cookie cutter! Your creation of giraffes from other cutters is totally mind boggling. Each is cuter than the last.
Girl, these are so great! I still can’t pick my favorite one but I don’t have to because this time I have nearly every cutter I need to make whichever one I want! You are the re-purposing super-star!
And by the way…..a box is headed your way with THREE things that were left behind here ๐
I wanted to leave you something to remember me by! Hope it wasn’t my skivvies!
That is absolutely the cutest herd of giraffes I’ve ever seen! I hope you loved SLO! I went to college there (and met my honey there) and visit a few times a year!! I hope you got to the Farmers Market, and the Apple Farm and McClintock’s!!
There are no words for how adorable these cookies are. Giraffes are my FAVORITE. It’s amazing how you come up with these ideas for using other cutters. I’m going to have to try to make some of these when the new baby comes.
Giselle!!! We must’ve had a mind meld because I was wondering what became of you just YESTERDAY! How ya been?! Baby girl or boy? How much longer?
My c-section will be around September 19th. Not too much longer. I just got back in the kitchen this weekend and started making cookies again. A few contractions had me in the hospital for a day this week, but doing fine. I’ve missed all my cookie friends. I’ll be sharing the baby’s sex this week…with cookies!
I’ve been wondering what you were up to! How exciting! Do we have a baby boy or girl to look forward to?!
You had me at Creative Giraffe Face! Each and every one is adorable and I KNOW you went to alot of work to make this tutorial and you really did a fantastic job!
You are a genius! I could have though of one or maybe 2 ways to make a giraffe similar to yours but, you are a creative machine!! I NEVER could have imagined so many ways to make a giraffe!! You are incredible!!!!
I’m so impressed by you endless creativity! We should call you cookie’s Einstein! Thank you for sharing all these amazing ideas!
You are incredible and so are your giraffe’s. ๐
These cookies are SO amazing. I just love how your mind works, seeing other creative cookie possibilities in cutters. You’ve totally influenced me- that last time I bought cookie cutters I stood there in the store wanting them badly but determined not to buy them unless I could think of six other cookies I could make with that set of very specific shapes. I’m happy to say I bought the cutters and now feel much better about the purchase because I can multi-task that set into a ton of possibilities!
Your amazing!
Woooow!!
I have found your blog right now, and it’s amazing!!
Your cutters are really beautiful!
With your permission, I’m other follower!!
Regards!
Callye, these are so perfect! My Baby loves giraffes!
These are soo cute! I want to give it a try, but I know they wont look as adorable as these. WTG!
Wow! You are SO Stinkin’ Creative! WOW!
YOU are AMAAAAZING!
My jaw just dropped! I can’t believe you looked at all these different cutters and not only saw a giraffe in them but that you made and decorated all the cookies too. You never cease to amaze me Callye.
How smart! I found your site through Pinterest and I’m excited to try your sugar cookie recipe … I’ll get to the wildly creative decorating in the near future ๐
I am picking my jaw from the floor as I type this comment. You are amazing, talented and incredible generous to share your creativity with us.
I can’t even imagine the time you spend making this post. From the bottom of my heart Callye, I hope you can get a book deal pretty soon. You certainly deserve it!
Hugs!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I have a giraffe theme birthday party next weekend! This couldnt have come at a better time!!!
Hi, friend!
Beyond creative and utterly adorable! Can I brush past you at CC in the hope that some of that genius rubs off on me??
Pretty please?
You are the queen of the cookie repurpose and so resourceful. The cookies are beautiful of course, I think no. 10 is my favorite but it probably has more to do with his cheeky smile as all the shapes look great.
I was just looking at all your cute little giraffes again, and reading the post…somehow I missed the part about you being in SLO!?! Oh my goodness, that’s only 45 minutes away! Shucks, It would have been such a treat to meet you:)

You amaze me with your talent!!
Thank you for sharing this! Love it!
Hi! Thanks for posting the giraffe cookie cutter options. I was bumbed as we don’t get those in South Africa so its nice to know how I can improvise! ๐
Thanks again for showing me how to use the Aussie reindeer to make a giraffe. A friend called with a request for giraffes for a baby shower and I suffered no anxiety as a result!
