Gingerbread House of Cards with The Cookie Architect and Friends
Ever wonder what would happen if a real-life architect took up cookie decorating? Well, the obvious, of course! She’d build things. Cookie things.
When Rebecca, AKA the Cookie Architect first approached me with this project I was more than a little nervous. I don’t do well under pressure and I get especially stressed in situations where there’s only one shot to get it right. In other words I could never work for NASA. In any case, I faced my fear and the final project is amazing.
I am, however, only willing to claim one side of my contribution. While I love my wet on wet holly leaves {tutorial coming soon}, I don’t want to talk about the other side. Surely you understand.
Basically my idea was simple is best, especially with all of the other designs going on. I’ve always been more comfortable in the choir, rather than singing a solo.
Take a moment to observe and enjoy. There are so many wonderful things to take in.
Just as soon as a pick a favorite, I notice another.
Some things just don’t need much explanation. They’re just amazing.
For an even closer look, check out the full project album here. It includes close ups of each design, along with the unmentionable side of my piece! You can also read about the project in Rebecca’s own words on The Cookie Connection.
Thanks again, Rebecca, for putting this together. I look forward to doing it again!
Thank you Callye for such a wonderful post about the project. I loved BOTH sides of your cookie, and hope you’ll forgive me for facing the wrong side out! I was matching colors!
It was such a pleasure to do. I hope people enjoy it and your part in it!
Fabulous project. All contributors did a beautiful job. A beautiful concept come to life beautifully!
Well, your card is super duper sweet! Festive, and I love it! Fun project for all of you, and for us viewers!
It’s beautiful and such a great collaboration! Nice job ladies!
I can’t even get my head around this… WOW. AMAZING. JUST AWESOME!!
Callie, you are astounding, and keep on being so. I adore perusing your posts… they make me laugh, and they demonstrate a really talented instructor, who knows how to train her understudies with happiness, and the endowment of prattle. You simply continue showing signs of improvement and better.
