Toadstool Cookies from Simple Cutters
Funny thing about Alice and rabbits…they can show up ANYWHERE. Mushrooms too! This happens to me all the time. I look at my grass and there’s nothing there, then the next morning there’s a toadstool where there wasn’t one before.
Just like their natural counterpart, mushroom cookies also have a way of popping up out of nowhere.
Okay, I might be exaggerating a little. They do come from somewhere, but luckily, just like real ones it doesn’t take much. If you have any of these cutters…an egg, circle, or candy corn, then you’ve got a toadstool.
Simply cut the shape and take a notch out of each side with a heart cutter. I like this wonky one from Wilton.
Tada! An entire collection of toadstools with basic cutters!

You are so prolific!!! I can’t believe the number of gorgeous cookies you come up with each month!! And your ideas are so original. So I think I’ve read every post you’ve ever written and have two unanswered questions so here goes…
1. Where did you get those lovely sanding sugar glass jars with lids? I’d love to buy some.
2. What were you doing in San Luis Obispo when you left your computer charger at the airport? Do you have family here? I was so excited to know such a good friend of mine came to town 😉
WOW!!! I would not have guessed that was how you did it!! They look so perfect!!
Can I just take a small moment to tell you how smart, and clever, and awesome, and creative, and talented and cool, and super, and amazing, and awesome you are! Yep, awesome! I truly love and admire your ability to make us see all these clever used for the same cutter! I could maybe whittle my stash down to 40 cutters and survive! But then you’d have a great tutorial with the one cutter I didn’t have 😉

Love the beautiful assortment shown here Callye and I’m just shake my head seeing how you create such new and wonderfully fun cookies out of cutters that started out to be something totally different.
Oh, this is brilliant! I’ve been looking into other uses for my cutters because I am out. of. room. for new ones and have really been wanting mushroom cutters for some reason. I love the sheer amount of variation that’s possible with this, that you couldn’t get with just a single toadstool cutter.
