Decorated Princess Cookies
You know how it is with princesses, they think they rule the world {or at least that’s my daughter theory}.
Leave it to a princess to show up right in the middle of a fall cookie blitz. Hopefully, these princess cookies are cute enough to pardon the interruption.
I pieced my princess cookies from a gingerbread girl and a small round gumpaste cutter.
Using I knife I slightly trimmed the arms, and added an extra circle of dough for a bun. If you want to skip the piecing the design will work fine without the round, I just wanted a little extra room to work.
To make these cookies you will need:
- Fleshtone 20-second icing {for different shades click the highlighted link}
- Deep pink piping and 20-second icing
- Light pink piping and 20-second icing
- Brown piping and 20-second icing
- A tiny bit of black, yellow, white, and purple 20-second icing
Begin by flooding the face and neck area along with the top layer of the skirt {and if there’s a word for that specific part of the dress, please let me know}.
Once the first section has set, add the first section of hair, bodice, and the rest of the skirt.
Wait a bit, then add the second layer of hair and sleeves.
Finally, use flesh tone icing to add arms. Let the cookie dry.
Clean up the design with piped details. I added a jeweled crown, a swoop of hair, eyes, a mouth, pearls, and a few dress details.
Mix with other princess-themed cookies for a royal treat.

I was wondering whether you first draw everything on paper? I would not know where to draw the lines for the icing 😉
WELLLLLLLLLL…I should practice what I preach. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS SKETCH, however, I am guilty of just winging it. I’ve had lots of practice, so it usually works out okay, but I am ALWAYS happier when I have a plan.
I love this reply!! I always have this little voice in my head that says “Callye would not be winging it!!!” Really though, your little lectures on drawing them out and thinking outside the cutters were terrific, and as time goes on I think you just get more proficient in that eye for the design! I love this darling interruption to Indian Corn and turkeys…her little neck is so dainty!
Thanks for your reply 😉 So I would definitely stick to a plan (and most probably still fail :P). I have really respect, that you can just do this from scratch, you are so talented 🙂
These are absolutely gorgeous!!! I know your little princess will love them. I’ve a little princess too, but she’s my granddaughter and she was here today. She always has to decorate cookies, I had some round white ones so she made me some pumpkin on them. Hope your little one has a beautiful party ????????
Don’t know were the question marks came from I had put crowns on the end of my post sorry!
Very cute and love the use of the gingerbread gal cutter!
Love these. They really are charming. Really needed this idea when I was doing a specific set of princess character cookies.
So nice!!! 🙂
Wow, they are so cute! 🙂
I stop by often and love your blog. You are super talented! Thanks for sharing with us.
These are absolutely amazing!!!! Can I have your cookies recipe?
Oh, she is just too cute and I love how you put the undulation in the bottom of her dress! Such the cute design!
Love your tutorials! Very helpful and easy to follow, thank you!
These are so sweet, Callye. I love the little heart lips <3
Such a great use of that gingerbread cutter! Love the whole princess platter!
Gah, I can’t handle how you blow me away with every post. I’ll never be as good as you but I’m sure going to give it my damnedest!
(I think the top part of the skirt is called a peplum?)
Oh my goodness!!!!! These are so adorable! And I even have that exact same gingerbread girl cutter!! 😀
Hi Callye! That top layer of skirt is called a peplum. They are actually coming back into style! Love your cookies!
I am a lurker on your website. A 6 week lurker. I am opening a party store in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and will be selling “EVERYTHING TO MAKE A PERFECT PARTY!” Which for me includes, decorated cookies. I just wanted to let you know how incredible you are. I love your website. I love your cookies. I love your detail and care. And…I love your incredible willingness to share everything. Daily I am in awe and to be very honest, am usually left with my mouth open and my jaw in a dropped position because I truly don’t understand how you can make things so beautiful. You are amazing!!! I hope to be reading your posts for years to come as I embark on my own cookie adventure. Thank you for being you. Robin
