Christmas Cookie Book Giveaway!!!
As promised, a giveaway!!! It’s books like this that get me in the Christmas mood. As a matter of fact, it’s probably what started this whole cookie obsession. Every holiday season, I would find myself
drawn to all of the beautiful cookie covered magazines and books. I must own twenty of them, and I still can’t resist a new one. I found this one the other day while I was out on a little shopping venture. I was so impressed with the chocolate cut-out recipe inside, I decided one of my lucky readers might need one! This book will be hours of happy holiday fun for the family!

And I typically make a gazillion or more cookies at the holidays..I make 15 or 20 dozen a week any week, so you can imagine how all-out a cookie addict goes at Christmas. The ones people like best are my peanut butter blossoms, or (for a non cookie thing) my fudge.

My favorite Christmas cookie, is one my mom makes, and I refuse to make it because then she won't make them for me anymore 🙂 so I let her make them for me, so there is one treat every year I sit back and enjoy and can't wait for her to make them, just for me! Pecan Lassies, they have been my favorite of hers since I was young.

It's hard to choose but my favorite Christmas cookie would have to be sugar cookies with buttercream icing and sprinkles like my grandparents used to make.

Growing up my family made pizzelle cookies. I always thought it was strange by grandma would store them in an old Folger's coffee can. They were a perfect fit, so why not!

my favorite cookie time was whenI was little, my mom would make and bake cookies, pies and cakes. When she make cookies she always gave me and my sister the extra dough, we would play with it like playdoh and make some ugly cookies, but she would still bake them and we were so happy to show our dad when he got home. Now I like to let my little man at home decorate cookies with me, I still have not been able to give up the dough, too many cookies to make, but I always make him a few to decorate himself.

Liked you on FB of course! As a mom with young kids I wanted to start fun christmas traditions. We started decorating sugar cookies on Christmas Eve to leave for Santa. We cut them out and sprinkle them to death before we bake them because that's the easiest with a 2 and 4 year old. Cant wait to do it agian this year! I just got into cookie decorating, so so glad I ran across your blog. I just love it!

I know it is not a cookie but my fav was peanut butter balls….next would be plain sugar cookies and decorating them!

Hmmm, it's hard to choose a favorite! I have always loved fudge – and my mom and her closest sister would make 2 different kinds – so yummy! But my favorite memories consist of making sugar cookies with my mom and sisters and decorating them. Of course, we didn't decorate them anywhere near as fancy and beautiful as you do! But we loved doing it. We would do an egg-white glaze on some and just sprinkle sugar, frost and sand with sugars, or frost and then place dragees and other decorative bits on them. We were so proud of our creations!
This last week, after seeing countless fb postings from the very talented wife of a friend over the past year about various cookies she's made for special occasions and friends, and now with Christmas fast approaching, I've been struck with the bug to learn how to decorate sugar cookies (and gingerbread and who knows what else!) with beautiful piped and flooded icing. And what a great idea to NOT just do this at Christmas. 🙂 I've been looking through blogs and one recommnended yours and I love it so it's now been added as a favorite.
My challenge now though? To still make sure I keep cookie-making fun for the 10 year old. Like you, I can be a bit of a perfectionist. So my solution is to have some cookies separated into "his" and "mine" bunches. That way, we can each do it our own way. And if he wants to try some with piping I will bite my tongue!
I'm planning with a couple mom friends whose kiddos happen to be best buds with mine to set up a baking day for all of us together (an exchange) and this book would be PERFECT! So I would love to possibly win it.

My favorite Christmas cookie is my mother's recipe for cutout sugar cookies. The fun memories of cutting them out and icing and decorating will always be with me. Every kid in our neighborhood loved these cookies–and I carry that tradition on for my brother and nephews every year.

My all-time favorite Christmas cookies are my grandmother's coconut macaroons (which, sadly, I never got the recipe for before she passed away). I know they had sweetened condensed milk and red and green glaceed cherries pressed into the top–thoroughly bad for you in every way, but soooo delicious. 🙂

My favorite Christmas cookies are simply sugar cookies…they are so versatile…you can flavor them…color them…make wonderful shapes…just fabulous! I did not grow up making cookies and baking with my Mom…but now I do it with my kids…and they love it. Playing with frosting and colors…sugars..etc! Thanks for sharing your work!

these are gorgeous! My favorite Christmas cookie memory? My son was 2 and we were setting out cookies for Santa….he took a bite out of every one before putting them on Santa's plate!
My teenager has a passion for the peanutbutter cookies with the chocolate kiss. Last year, two days before Christmas I went to take them out of the freezer and there was ONE left. I think I had made about 70. I told him he was going to remake them and if he didnt he wouldnt be going to his grandma's house (my x-mother-in-law's). He said she would never let that happen. I disagreed, so we called her and she told him he better start baking. I have the best x-mom-in-law ever. 🙂 Merry Christmas everyone!
My favourite cookies are the traditional sugar cookies, santas, reindeers etc. Some things just never compare to your upbringing and comfort foods.

I did all three! I twittered with the URL, I "Liked" you on FB and I'm commenting here.
My favorite Christmas cookie recipe was given to me by an older gentleman when my husband and I lived in Pryor Creek. They're fruitcake cookies and I've only seen one recipe that even comes close. (Barefoot Contessa)
Question #1: How do you get those beautiful colors?
Question #2: Do you have a tutorial for the oil patch cookies? I need to make some of those!

Ooooh! I love cookbooks, especially cookie ones! I think my favorite Christmas cookie would have to be a cocoon, which is basically a shortbread cookie with pecans, baked and rolled in powdered sugar. I love the powderey sweetness that hits your tastebuds first, followed by the nutty, buttery shortbread. Yum! I think I need to go make some, now!
Thanks for blogging again, Callye. I've missed it!
Have long been a FB fan of all of your wonderful creations! Thanks for all of the sharing of your incredible talent. Also, love the new blog look. I need to revamp mine, too. You've given me the inspiration to do so.
Oh, wow!! I love your cookies! They are so beautiful! I love making cookies, but mine never look that goood…

My favourite Christmas cookie memory comes from the first year my mother and I made gingerbread men. We live in Australia, and the day we made them it was about 38 degrees Celsius (that's what, about 100F?), and it turns out the recipe we used (and still do, cause it's delicious!) has a tendency to turn rather gooey when introduced to heat… You can imagine cutting the little men out and then attempting to move them – suffice to say, much hilarity ensued, with little dismembered gingerbread heads, arms & legs dropping off. Too funny. Nowadays we have airconditioning, so our gingerbread making is a lot easier (although a lot less funny!)
I love to make sugar cookies!! Also, I love the new look of your site – completely adorable!!!

My favorite memory is when my daughter (who is 20 now) was nine, I let her and my nephew decorate Christmas cookies to leave out for Santa. These cookies were the most gross looking cookies I ever seen lol! (Wet from too much icing) Well we left them out for Santa and when I woke to throw them out in the bottom (very bottom) of the garbage bag, I must've left a thumb print on the plate….so when she woke to check to see if Santa ate his cookies, she squealed with glee,"Santa was here and he left his fingerprint on the plate"…I just smiled because I thought it was the cutest thing! Until she also stated right after that, "I thought Santa wore gloves?" lol! Gotta love the kids!

My favorite Christmas cookie has to be the pecan sandies I learned to make from my MIL. She is gone now, but each year when I make them, I feel her with me.
I am a fan already and my email is in the name link to my blog! Thanks for the chance!
My favorite Christmas cookie is the plain ole sugar cookie…still warm from the oven.

I'm a fan on Facebook! My favorite cookies are Snickerdoodles! Just made 4.5 doz for an event Friday! Mmmmm! Thanks for the kindness of a giveaway! Many holiday blessings to your family!

My favorite Christmas cookie, isn't really a cookie….It's the Oreo Truffle! I only make them at Christmas, and it's a good thing because I eat them up fast!!

Favorite Christmas cookie hands down was Grandma's five stack butter cookie Christmas tree. Five paper thin butter cookies in descending size that formed a standing tree with a fluffly layer of green buttercream between each and topped with a white candy pearl. I'm making mini-wedding cake cookies for a reception this week and am remembering those tree cookies fondly with every tray of doughy circles I cut out.
I have been creating my favorite Christmas cookie memories recently. My daugher is 4 yrs. old and she I roll out cookies, bake, and decorate together. I don't share a Christmas cookie memory with my mom (although there are lots of other fun memories I share with mom), but I am now sharing baking experiences with my daughter (she even has her own pint-sized rolling pin and apron)! Thanks for hosting this giveaway!

Olá,
acompanho seus posts pelo facebook, fico encantada com suas criações, são maravilhosas. Vou tentar fazer meus primeiros cookies, me inspirando em vc. Continue sempre com seu talento e sempre dividindo conosco, essas maravilhas.
parabens!!!
My favorite Christmas cookie is sugar cookies, my grandmother’s recipe. I love decorating the wreath cookie because it already has the outline from the cutter. It’s easy to put green icing on it and then come back and add red berries and a red bow. I could eat the whole batch so I only make these cookies once or twice a year. My kids say they are the best cookies in the world. They don’t realize it’s because they helped bake them with the love of a family tradition. Thanks for your website. Even if I don’t win the giveway, I’ve won by learning some new things and idea. Merry Christmas!
Wow! Great to find a post with such a clear megasse!
Loving it!!!! Lovely ideas and helpful tips!!! My alltime favorite cookies are butter ones!!!
I’ve never attempted such beautiful Christmas cookies before, but you have inspired me! Thank You
Oh how I wish I could pay you to make my Son cookies for Christmas , He is in the Army and serving in Kuwait and will not be home for Christmas and I told him I would make some cookies and send to him and I wish I could make such beautiful cookies like you do. I need to learn how to do the icing and how long do they need to sit before I can stack and mail
Have liked your page – and am so glad I found your website a few weeks ago – being new to the cookie your site is so helpful – my local cake decorating store laugh when I arrive and tell me I should have shares in the business.
Your tips are great and I especially love the one with the ‘Icing Pods and also using an icelolly maker for storing the icing in while working with it.
Thank you and I hope you have a wonderful Xmas – off now to make the sled!
Kind Regards

Every Christmas I would decorate Christmas cookies with my Grammy while my mom prepared Christmas Dinner. I looked forward to this event every Christmas. I got my mom’s and Grammys full attention. One year we( Grammy) were talking about careers, you know, what do you want to be when you grow up, mom turned around and said ” all you need to know is how to decorate cookies”.
